Selene had learned that during his trip to Earth Seiya had fallen for Usagi. She was the one telling him to watch over her. Feeling betrayed she stayed locked in her room, crying, and not knowing of a fight leading in her friends being injured.

Selene in tears is talking to Seiya.

It's because she figures out that after she had told the StarLights to simply watch over and keep their sisters safe.... Seiya goes and gets a crush on Usagi. Selene, who had liked Seiya longer then 16-year-old Usagi was alive, felt betrayed because of it and locked herself in her room. Her friends not wanting to bother her left for their mission/battle.
